4. Shipping & Insurance
Packaging
You must use the packaging materials provided by Sqoot Cash (prepaid FedEx envelope and tamper-evident security bag). Using unapproved packaging may disqualify your shipment from insurance coverage.
Drop-Off Requirement
To qualify for insurance coverage, all packages must be physically handed to a FedEx employee at a staffed FedEx location (FedEx Office, FedEx Ship Center, or authorized retail partner). Packages dropped in unstaffed drop boxes or self-service kiosks do not qualify for insurance coverage. Retain your printed drop-off receipt.
Insurance Coverage
Up to $100,000 in insurance is available per qualified shipment at no cost to you. Claims for loss or damage must be filed per FedEx carrier policies. To qualify, either provide photos of items next to your FedEx envelope before shipping, or obtain written approval from Sqoot Cash by submitting a description of your items prior to shipment.
Carrier
All shipments to Sqoot Cash must use the prepaid FedEx label provided. Items shipped via other carriers or using unapproved labels may not qualify for insurance coverage.
5. Receipt & Inspection of Goods
- Weighing: Goods are weighed using a certified precision scale to 0.01 gram accuracy.
- Assay Process: Goods are tested for purity using XRF spectrometry. Minor scratching may occur during testing. By submitting items, you waive all rights to monetary compensation for incidental assessment damage.
- Non-Metallic Materials: Stones, gems, and non-precious materials are not included in valuation.
- Video Unboxing: All parcels are opened under continuous video surveillance. You may request your unboxing video at any time by emailing [email protected].
- Fraudulent Parcels: Parcels suspected of fraud — including empty parcels, goods not as described, or tampered packaging — will not be processed and will be reported to appropriate authorities.
- No-Value Goods: Items containing no precious metal will not be purchased. Return shipping may be provided at our discretion.
6. Pricing & Offers
How Offers Are Calculated
Formula: Payout = Live Spot Price × Weight (oz troy) × Purity (%) × Payout Rate
Payout rates range from 75–80% of spot depending on lot size and metal type. Initial estimates shown on our website are non-binding. The Final Offer is the binding offer issued after physical assessment and supersedes any previous estimate.
Response Time
Final Offers must be accepted or rejected within 48 hours of issuance. Offers not responded to within this period may be withdrawn.
No Negotiation
Final Offers are non-negotiable. We provide our best offer upfront, based on transparent calculation. If you decline, your items will be returned at no cost.
7. Jewelry Repair Services
Sqoot Cash offers jewelry repair services via mail-in only. By submitting items for repair, you agree to the following additional terms:
- A repair quote will be issued after receipt and inspection of your item. No repair work begins until you explicitly approve the quote in writing (by email).
- If you decline the repair quote, your item will be returned via insured FedEx at no charge.
- You acknowledge that during repair, minor incidental marks or finishing differences may occur consistent with professional jeweling practice.
- Sqoot Cash is not responsible for pre-existing damage not disclosed at the time of submission.
- Repair timelines are estimates. Typical turnaround is 7–10 business days after receipt and quote approval.
- Items submitted for repair are insured during transit per Section 4 of these Terms.
- You attest that you are the legal owner of items submitted for repair.
8. Returns
- If you decline your Final Offer, items will be held for 90 calendar days pending your return request. Failure to request a return within this period may result in forfeiture of items.
- Return shipping is free and fully insured.
- A signature is required for returns valued at $2,000 or greater.
- Once a Final Offer is accepted, items may not be requested for return.
- You must request return prior to accepting your offer. Accepted offers are final.
